Our experience with Open Arms was a disaster. Extra problems and extra stress were created.
Owner of Open Arms was a receptionist prior to opening the agency 2 yrs ago. She has made SERIOUS mistakes with several sets of prospective parents. She is unable to own up to her mistakes and worse, she doesn’t care. Some of her mistakes: violation of confidentiality (disclosing recipient identity to donor and donor identity to recipient in an anonymous cycle), breach of contract (not doing what she promised in the contract; and didn’t care when we pointed it out to her), not refunding money and misrepresenting the donor in the donor profile (cancer was omitted). She has also stepped on toes of clinic coordinators. The recipients had to go after her and smooth out the trouble. The attorney she sends clients and donors to without disclosing the relationship is her own attorney (conflict of interest). My advice: keep looking.
