DONORS BEWARE OF A WOMAN'S GIFT

Postby peaches22 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 2:09 pm

I would just like to share the experience I had with this agency. I am an experienced donor and I worked with this agency. I was coherced into not having an attorney to represent me in order to save the intended parents additional money after I already lowered my compensation. I took it upon good faith by the director Fran that I was protected under this contract. In the end I was not the one protected the parents were the ones protected. I suffered ovarian hyperstimulation and was very ill. I had to be off work for more than 2 weeks and had to pay several hundred dollars in childcare, mileage, and time off work due to this. I was not reimbursed any of this. I was told I would be out no out of pocket expenses as a donor but this is clearly not the case. But I guess that was my own stupidity for trusting this agency and for not having an attorney. I am very discouraged as a donor. The couple is now a few months pregnant and I feel that I am the one who suffered so greatly. I didn't so much as even get a thank you. It really concerns me at what is wrong with people. So for all the donors out there be advised you should not place any trust into this agency. I don't think a donor should have to go through what I went through. :(

I am glad to hear this review so I can steer clear, even though i have heard many great things from IP's about Fran and her program, however, this post really belongs in the Agency Review forums under this agencies name.
