This was our first experience using egg donation, and we were very pleased with how the entire cycle was handled. I initially registered for access to their egg donor database through their website, but shortly after that, received both a phone call and an email from Geri offering assistance with the donor selection process. After communicating my criteria to her, she responded with a donor recommendation which we immediately felt was a good match for us. I really appreciated that we were able to hold this donor for several days while we went through the decision-making process, and we did not feel pressured at all to make a decision before we were ready to.
After we selected this donor, Becky was our case manager. She communicated very clearly how we could expect the process to unfold, and the cycle went like clockwork from that point forward. She kept us in the loop as to what was going on during the cycle, and always answered our questions promptly.
We looked at more than 1000 donor profiles on more than 30 donor websites before settling on this donor with Giving Hope. We had read positive recommendations about them, and we felt Giving Hope had a quality database and reasonable agency and donor fees. All of this factored into our decision to use Giving Hope. We had heard a number of horror stories about problems other IPs had with egg donor agencies, such as not getting emails or phone calls returned, "bait and switch" tactics during the donor selection process, exorbitant donor and/or agency fees, and high-pressure tactics to try and get a contract signed. We definately felt a certain amount of risk in choosing a donor agency. We found that Giving Hope more than met all of our expectations, and we would recommend them without reservation to other IPs.
