My experience w/ The Donor Egg Bank

Postby princessrider » Mon Oct 15, 2007 7:53 pm

I must first state that after reading some of the horror stories about the other agencies on this board I was very nervous about the whole DE process.

I called/emailed various agencies and they 1) wouldn't return messages 2) took so long to return call I had forgotten I had called them. 3) found a perfect DE on one site and she had asked to be taken OFF the list months prior-they actually admitted this. 4) One agency was so pushy I thought I was buying a used car-and I hadn't even picked out a good match on the
site.

One lady basicly told me I asked too many questions and that I would never get the \"ball rolling\" if I didn't stop asking questions. Hello isn't that your JOB to answer questions??

I have just started the DE process w/ this agency and they have more than gone above and beyond. The response was quick and Mary has
always answered my calls and questions. She didn't even flinch when I asked her to find out about 2 possible DE's.

It did take a few days to find out if the DE was willing to donate, but she had just changed jobs and had to make sure she could get the time off.
In the mean time Mary was more than willing to call other DE to see if she would be willing to donate. That was a very classy move on her part.

It will be 3 weeks on 10/16 and I feel we are moving right along in the process. If all goes according to plan we will have ER/ET on Jan 2008. Five months to go threw the whole DE process is MUCH quicker than I thought would happen. Some websites where saying 18-24 months :o !!

I will come back and update this posting. This is a great agency so far and I would hate for some IP out there to miss it.

Just a quick update-

DE has passed her clomid challenge test and we are going to start w/ her december period. It still looks like a Jan ET/ER so we are still on track!!

I am still very impressed with Mary! She has been a trooper and has never shyed away from emails, phone calls or questions of any kind. Like I said in a previous post I was a bit nervous from the horrror stories from other agencies- Mary has easied all the fears she can!!

I hope my posting has helped someone out there- The agency is truly a gem and I hope more IP's find them.

Another update!

I have started my lupron injections-and the retreival date is 1/16 or 1/17! So far everything is going very well. I am still very impressed w/ Mary and the staff at Donor Egg Bank. They continue to go above and beyond.

This process has been MUCH smoother than I even thought it could be. After reading the horror stories I feel very blessed to have been directed to this agency. It has beeen a perfect fit for us!

I will keep undating as the journey goes along-
Happy Holidays to all!

Update #4,

Everything is still going smoothly. Mary is still right on top of everything our DE needs. The ER/ET is right around the corner and I still can't believe that its happend this quickly and with NO clitches so far. (keeping my fingers crossed while typing that one)

I will keep updating in the next month to let you all know exactly how good this agency is. So far I have no doubt they will keep on working hard for us.

Yet another update

Our donor had her retrieval and they got 17 eggs. Out of that 15 have fertilized. I am waiting on the day 2 lab results as I type this. I do know this number could go down, but I am over the moon happy with the results so far.

Mary is still right on top of everything and I am still singing her praises daily. The donor is more than happy with the process so far. My clinic forgot to give her instructions for after the procedur but othe than that it all went off without a hitch.

I'll post more as I proceed-

Still after going threw this whole process I cannot say enough nice things about Mary and her staff. I have to say even if the out come where different I would still be singing Marys' praises!!

My donor was wonderful and gave us the kindest Thank-You card. This truly touched my heart and just confimred that we picked the right DE for us!!

I will post again in a few months and update the progress of the pregnancy!

Thank-you Mary!! This never would have been possible without you!!!

Princess, I am so happy to hear your news! I used Family Creations for my first donor cycle and they were incredible. Unfortunately, ours didn't turn out as wonderfully as yours because we didn't acheive a pregnancy. The donor had 18 eggs and out of 18 only 11 were good enough for the embryologist to fertilize. By day 6 we had one blastocyst to transfer and the rest is history. I would use Family Creations again but we are cycling in Denver and I need a donor there. Very unhappy with my current clinic. They make lots of mistakes. Anyway, I have looked into the Egg Donor Bank and found a donor I really like. The next step will be getting her cleared by the new clinic. Again, congratulations!
