Need Someone To Share Our Donor

Postby TamKer » Tue Aug 08, 2006 10:39 pm

We were just notified by Cooper in NJ that we could be matched with either of the two paid donors we selected from the Cooper donor pool. For financial reasons we need to share the cycle with another recepient.

We have two options at this point.

1. We can wait until the next donor list comes out and the clinic will likely make a match with a second recepient who selects one or the other of these donors.

2. We were also told that we have the option of finding a second recepient who wants to share one of these donors as long as we do so before the upcoming donor list is released.

Both of these donors have donated 3 times before, both have high egg production numbers and an almost perfect track record of viable pregnancies by their recepients. I believe each one had one previous recepient who hadn't yet transfered due to lining issues, etc.

Ideally we hope to find another recepient who is already a patient at Cooper, or someone who has their consult scheduled within the next couple of weeks.

Please do not contact us until you hear from Cooper if you are currently a recepient in the donor egg program and submitted a choice from the most recent donor list. We were told they had computer problems and an audit and are late in contacting recepients to inform them of matches that were made from the current list. If you submitted a choice there is a good likelihood that you were matched also.

We asked that both these donors be listed in the upcoming donor list scheduled to be released around August 23, so once that list goes out people who are already recepients in the Cooper donor program will have first choice and the clinic will likely find a second recepient. These are the clinic rules.

If you are not currently a Cooper patient, please be aware that they do require, at a minimum, a consult with one of the REs there. They also require various current testing for the recepient and partner, though much of this does not have to be performed at their clinic.

The cost of your half of a shared cycle would be just shy of 10K plus half of the medication cost for the donor. There are additional fees for ICSI, sperm freezing, etc. if you needed such things.

Please call the Cooper Clinic in NJ and ask for the donor egg program to get more accurate information about cost and required testing.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss sharing our donor and are confident that you would be able to meet the clinic's requirements within the next 2 weeks. Again...once the next donor list is sent out near the end of August we are no longer allowed to find a second recepient ourselves unless the clinic is unable to do so.

Thanks, and best wishes on your journey.
