[/b]EDI and Lyne Macklin-Fife, Program Administrator, get a 10 out of 10 in my book...and as a management consultant, I get paid to be critical of organizations, their people and their processes!
My partner and I were very impressed with the level of hand-holding that EDI provided throughout the process. We developed a list of our criteria, evaluated potential donors, came up with a short-list and further evaluated the candidates. Lyne and her staff made themselves available via e-mail, phone and even in-person. They helped us think through our criteria, discussed various candidates, obtained additional information when needed and even provided us an opportunity to communicate directly with some of the candidates.
When a medical exam resulted in the elimination of our first candidate, Lyne jumped back into the process to ensure that we identified another candidate with whom we were equally happy. Then when a delay with our donor contract threatened our procedure date, Lyne again jumped in to contact the attorney and resolve the problem.
And here we are today, with happy, healthy 2 month-old twins. I credit EDI with being a big part in the successful birth of our girls. In fact, to put our level of satisfaction in perspective, my partner and I have offered our time to serve as a reference for EDI with couples interested in
considering the use of an egg donor and EDI. If you go down this path, I only hope that your experience is half as satisfying as ours was.

That someone who doesn't use correct grammer and can't bother to spell check any of her emails could be an effective program coordinator. Just my 2 cents.

Funny you mention Lyne, because she's the one I had all sorts of problems with. She's also one of the only ones left when the agency changed hands, so if there have been the same kind of problems (lying, files being changed, telling donors one thing and IPs another) with the agency over the course of many years, it should make you wonder. Morever, this review makes me wonder, and I imagine that it will make prospective IPs wonder, if in fact, this isn't Lyne or other ED Inc staff writing this so-called review. Just a hunch--because I would hardly put it past them.
Over the top is right!

From the EDI site:
Lyne Macklin - Program Administrator
Lyne Macklin-Fife is a graduate of California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Criminology and an Associate of Arts Degree in accounting from West Los Angeles College. Prior to joining Egg Donation, Inc. in 1994 as a Program Administrator, Lyne's diversity of employment ranged from Administrator for the Center for Biofeedback and Pain Management, Administrative Assistant to a Clinical Psychologist that specializes in Individual/Group Counseling for Infertile couples and Office Manager for a Clinical Psychologist. Her current job responsibilities include matching couples and donors, speaking engagements, and coordinating and assisting the Recipient and Egg Donor throughout the cycle.
Now, really, what on earth does a degree in criminology have to do with egg donation! It may have trained her to speak with criminals, but most infertile couples aren't criminals. And being an \"Administrative Assistant (read overpaid secretary) to a clinical psychologist that specializes in individual/group counseling for infertile couples\" gives you a desk outside of where the psychologist does the counseling and certainly doesn't allow you to know anything about what's going on inside.
Obviously, this is someone who's opinion of her abilities far outshines her professional credentials.
There is nothing in their own description that qualifies her to do the job they've hired her to do as far as matching couples and coordinating their cycles.

I know exactly what you mean. Not one of my emails was free from really simple grammar/spelling errors. I tried to look past it, as perhaps spelling has nothing to do with competency, but it just seemed so unprofessional. And I was dealing with Andrea, not Lynn.
