proceed with caution

proceed with cautionThey have a lot of donors, but require a $5000 non-refundable fee to reserve a donor. Are absolutely ruthless about business and will not respond to you if they think you're not playing by their rules--that is buying into a relationship with them. Lorraine seems fine but the owner Deana is all business, and frankly, rather coercive, offering a donor that is not yet available as a backup in case of future failure. After expressing strong interest in a donor, and asking questions about her, I felt I was a victim of a bait and switch and ended up losing my donor, without any word or warning. Felt like I'd been disciplined for asking questions and lost a great potential donor. A friend cycled with them and is still waiting for a refund on her travel expenses nearly six months later. So, caveat emptor, as they say.
I think they are great!I have donated for Loving Donation a few times. They are always reponsive and treat their donors very well.
Re: proceed with cautionI agree with Swifthope. I dealt with the owner of Loving Donations, Deana DeGroot, and what I'd like to share is an honest experience. It is very unfortunate that I have to post this, but all women seeking an egg donor or surrogate from her firm must know her soft and slow voice is not to be mistaken. She signed a contract for one price then called and said she couldn't help me at all and suggested I go elsewhere for help. I was in shock for days wondering how someone could say one thing one day and change it the next. I was completely puzzled and hurt that a woman who claims to want to help us with having a child turned out to be about the money because another person is ABLE to pay more. I said a prayer for her... may God show her His truth instead of her worshipping money and taking couples desperately seeking a child to hell and back.
Re: proceed with cautionIt sounds like this agency isn't reliable. I really think there should be a national agency that oversees clinics and agencies dealing in this area, since they have national agencies in Europe and England. There is no excuse, and this agency contacted me by email even after I had dealt with them and had not gotten a response to my application. Very disappointing.
