I'd like to hear from people on this forum who I could chat to to find out more about why you are looking for, or want to be, a donor - or people who have already gone through the process.
I'm a young woman based in the UK and find the issues surrounding egg donation fascinating - especially to hear that women like me are giving or selling eggs.
I currently work as a researcher for a TV documentary company and we're making a programme looking at all the issues involved in egg donation. We'd like to make a film that shows the emotional difficulties facing parents and donors and explains more about the process - especially as in the UK the situation is made more difficult by the fact you can't sell eggs and you can't be guaranteed anonymity as a donor.
I'd like to talk to people about their stories.
For donors, what motivates you? Maybe you want to be a donor because of religious or moral reasons, maybe you know someone who can't conceive, or maybe you just need the money to help you through college? Has your appearance or your college made you a popular donor?
For intended parents, why have you ended up doing IVF? What are you looking for in a donor, and have you had success finding them or still looking? How much would you pay for the perfect egg?
Whatever you're story I'd like to hear from you. Ideally we'd like to speak to people who might talk to us on camera, but don't let that scare you - absolute anonymity guaranteed, you won't be on film unless you decide you want to be!
