DH and I had what we thought was a great conference call with Amy Demma- although she was a half hour late: her reason being that she didn't have phone service in her office. I guess she does not have a cell phone- whatever.
We let that slide as people get caught up etc.
During the call, Amy sells her agency. She tells us that she doesn't work with \"serial\" cyclers i.e donors who cycle more than 4x. She then goes on to imply how they work closely with you and their donors are carefully screened- I do believe her agency does screen donors thoroughly.
She continues with her pitch and we come away from the call with the impression that her donors were exclusive through what she calls \"her network.\" I realize that in this loosely controlled industry, exclusivity is probably hard to control- which is why Amy may want to tone down the rhetoric.
We then begin working on our IP profiles and Amy checks in to see how things are going. She then proceeds to send us photos of donors ( we have not even submitted a profile) So much for working closely with us based on our needs.
However, what really upset me was was that I recognized one of the donors from another agency website and another I am 99% sure is also featured on another agency website. So much for exclusivity!
DH and I begin to think, maybe we misunderstood her?
Then the kicker comes when I am reading through the ED ads on surromomsonline ( we also need a surrogate) and see an ad by Prospective Families featuring a 4x time donor! What! What happened to not working with what she called \"serial\" donors?
DH and I then send Amy an email expressing our concerns and asking for clarification. Guess what?
Four days later, we have not heard a word from her.
Needless to say, we are moving.
