For those looking for potential surrogates, I would think twice about going with EDSI. The agency terms and fee structures are not as standard as they present. Do your homework with other agencies and you'll find less expensive alternatives whose fees are tied to successful stages of the process. For example, West Coast surrogacy and Coastal Surrogacy are a few to look at.

Study the contracts carefully. The EDSI contract is vague and their work practices operate within that unclear language so they are not held accountable for delivering what you need. Others, like West Coast only have you pay when there is a successful pregnancy - EDSI does not and if they don't get you anything, they have no obligations and you are out a lot of money.

Also, go with people that care. Also, ask about how many are on their team. EDSI is only two people. Other agencies that have lower fees, have a team of at least five including a staff therapist. In addition, others have staff members that have been surrogates themselves. Those are better managed and can best tend to intended parents.

In addition, make sure you look up Better Business Bureau complaints with any agency. EDSI has one recorded that we discovered later. We wish did this before.
