Initial contact is very good. They are very responsive when you show an interest in a donor. Don't be surprised if the donor you are interested in \"has another couple that is very interested in her so you better hurry up and make a decision\". That should have been my first clue that they are all about your money.
Anyway, my story.
IF for 3 years, found a donor through another agency, but it got cancelled at the last minute, needless to say, a horrible disappointment. I was very anxious to pick another donor. My DH found a donor on this site.
MOST IMPORTANT LESSON: The donors on this site have not been screened, they have only filled out an application. When you pick a donor, you sign a contract immediately, and at THAT POINT, $2,500 is NOT REFUNDABLE!!!! That is very risky, and if I had been thinking with my head and not with my heart, I would have never signed this contract...
Anyway, the donor went for a psy screen at a local location, then must have changed her mind. She disappeared... Stopped answering all calls and apparently had not given her correct address because letters were returned to my clinic. That was it.
The worst part about this is that TDS did not tell me that they had lost touch with her, they strung me along for weeks until I asked directly about the flight info for her initial screening app't at my clinic. Then they admitted that they had had no communication with her for weeks.
They charged me the non-refundable $2,500 plus the cost of the psy screening!!!!!!
I really believe this is taking advantage of women that are vunerable because all they want is to have a baby.
Read the other reviews listed here too. I also found that their rates are much higher and once you sign a contract, you are dealing with a big business whose only goal is to make money.
Please learn from my mistake, there are lots of choices out there. I understand that the agencies need to make a living, but there ARE agencies that also want to help us achieve our goal WITHOUT exploiting us for as much money as they can get!!!
